Redline Seeking Highly Qualified Front Ensemble Manager

The 2017 edition of Redline Percussion is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Front Ensemble Manager. This individual will be in charge of the “day to day” operations in regards to our weekend rehearsals. They will work closely with the Design Team to devise strategic and effective rehearsal plans throughout the season.

2016 Front Ensemble Staff Additions

Redline is pleased to welcome the following additions to our front ensemble staff!  These gentlemen bring more years of World Class experience to the table and will be valuable additions to our already extremely talented staff. 

JUSTIN EASLEY - Justin has been involved in the marching arts since 2005, when he was a member of the fall and winter drumline at Rockdale County High School in Conyers, GA. He holds a Bachelor's degree from MIT. 

While in college, he marched 4 years with the Boston University Marching Band and Boston University Winter Percussion. In 2013, he marched with the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps before aging out of the marching activity in 2014 with Music City Mystique. 

Justin is currently pursuing a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan and has been actively teaching for the past 3 years. He has taught at various high schools in the metro Atlanta area and most recently works as the Front Ensemble Coordinator at Southgate Anderson High School. Justin is very excited to be joining the front ensemble staff for Redline this upcoming season!

DAN SCHMITT - SOUND ENGINEER - Dan Schmitt studied Music Industry at Eastern Kentucky University. He has been teaching as a Percussion Educator/Mentor since 2006, and currently works at the University of Louisville as their full time Drumline instructor. 

Dan is a current member of the percussion staff for Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps from San Antonio, TX (2015) and was previously with Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps from Fort Mill, SC (2012-2014), and most recently had the privilege of working with Tarpon Springs Outdoor Performance Ensemble during their first ever Bands Of America Grand Nation Championship.

Dan played Bass Drum with Madison Scouts (2009); The Cavaliers (2010); Redline (2010) and Rhythm X (2011). In 2010, he was part of Yamaha Japan’s percussion clinics in Okyama, Japan, and was a charter member the Cincinnati Bengals “Growl” Drumline. The majority of his work includes creating professional audio designs for ensembles in the marching activity.

2016 Battery Staff Additions

After coming off a successful return to WGI competition, Redline is pleased to continue to move forward in its quest for continued excellence.  We are pleased to welcome the following great additions to our battery staff!  These gentlemen will undoubtedly add to our already immensely talented staff and bring more years of Independent World experience to the table.

AARON BARRIENTOS - Aaron has been teaching percussion professionally since 2006, specializing in snare drum. From 2007-2010, Aaron performed with world class groups such as Matrix, Bluecoats, and Rhythm X, winning the WGI PIW championship in 2009 with Rhythm X. After aging out in 2010, he became the snare technician for the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps (2011) and North Coast Academy (2011). He currently teaches for Walled Lake Central High School and writes/designs for various groups in the area. Aaron lives in White Lake, MI.

ANDY WADE - Andy is currently completing a degree in Music Education from Central Michigan University where he studies percussion. Andy began his marching career at Walled Lake Central High School, where he was a member of Walled Lake Percussion from 2005 to 2009 on snare drum. His WGI experience also includes NorthCoast Academy from 2010-2013, where he was the battery section leader and center snare in 2013. He also marched two summers of Drum Corps International with The Crossmen Drum and Bugle corps in 2011 and Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps in 2012.

His teaching experience includes Walled Lake Percussion from 2010 to 2011 and percussion director at Walled Lake Northern High School in 2010. He was snare technician at NorthCoast Academy for the 2014 and 2015 seasons as well as visual instructor for the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps for the 2013 and 2014 seasons. He began working for Mount Pleasant High School in 2012, where he is currently percussion director, as well as show designer and percussion arranger.

His other experience in music arranging and design includes Concord High School from Jackson, Michigan, James Pace High School from Brownsville, Texas, and Norwell High School from Norwell, Indiana.

CHRIS DEMUTH - Chris has been an active member of all facets of rudimental percussion for over 10 years.  His training and knowledge base were founded performing with many DCI and WGI groups (Division 3 to World Class), Professional performing groups, studying Music Performance at Marian University -- under Braham Dembar and Mike McIntosh as well as performing as a free-lance performer around Metro Detroit.  Chris has had the privilege to pass his love for the activity as an instructor for various competitive groups including:  Pioneer Drum & Bugle Corps, Crossmen, Northcoast Academy, Walled Lake Percussion, Huron Valley Percussion and other various high school groups.  As a firm believer in the skills and work ethic this activity instills in its performers – Chris is very excited to be returning to the home of his age-out at Redline Percussion and looks forward to a great 2016 season! 

RYAN CARBERRY - Ryan is from Lake Orion, MI where he began his marching career in 2007.  He began playing cymbals with Lake Orion Percussion in 2010.  After his first season, he then grew a passion for the instrument and continued to march with Eastside Fury Percussion (2011-2013), where he held the position as section leader for the cymbal line in 2012 and 2013.  Ryan began marching drum corps in 2012 with the Pacific Crest Drum & Bugle Corps cymbal line.  He also marched with the corps in 2013.  Ryan Finished his drum corps career with the Spirit of Atlanta cymbal line in 2014 where he received a gold medal in the cymbal I&E in Indianapolis, IN.  Ryan finished his last two indoor seasons with Rhythm X (2014 and 2015).  In 2014, Ryan was a bronze medalist and in 2015 and he was the section leader for the cymbal line, and was a silver medalist.

In 2010, Ryan began teaching at Lake Orion High School as a visual tech for their marching band (2010, 2012-present), as well as a cymbal tech for Lake Orion Percussion (2010, 2012-2014).  He became the cymbal tech for Novi Percussion in 2015.  Ryan is attending Baker College and is studying for his bachelor’s degree in digital media design.
