Visual Tech
The Visual Tech supports Redline’s visual education program by providing instruction related to visual technique, movement, drill, staging, choreography, body responsibilities, and performance quality. This role helps implement the pedagogical, technical, and rehearsal approach established by the Visual Caption Head and reinforced by the Visual Lead Tech.
The Visual Tech works directly with members to support visual achievement, consistency, preparation, performer responsibility, and production clarity throughout the season.
Summary of Tasks:
Teach visual technique, movement, choreography, drill, staging, and body responsibilities
Support visual timing, form control, performance quality, and production achievement
Reinforce the visual technique program and rehearsal approach
Provide clear member feedback during rehearsals and performances
Communicate visual needs, concerns, and progress to the Visual Lead Tech or Visual Caption Head
Support member preparation, accountability, rehearsal habits, and visual culture
Qualifications/Desired Traits:
Demonstrated commitment to Redline’s mission, values, and organizational success
Strong understanding of visual technique, movement, choreography, staging, timing, body quality, performer responsibility, and performance achievement
World Class WGI/DCI marching or teaching experience highly preferred.
Ability to implement the Visual Caption Head’s pedagogical and technical program
Ability to receive direction from the Visual Caption Head and Visual Lead Tech
Ability to collaborate professionally with visual staff, battery staff, front ensemble staff, admin leadership, and members
Ability to support ensemble coverage needs and attend at least one full rehearsal weekend per month, or approximately six rehearsal blocks every four weeks, unless otherwise approved
Access to phone, email, computer, reliable internet, and tools needed to review drill, choreography, video, schedules, and rehearsal materials
