April 27th, 2017– Redline Youth Performance Ensemble is proud to formally announce the addition of a new competitive wind ensemble within their organization: Redline Winds! Unlike the established percussion unit, Redline Winds is based out of Greenville, South Carolina and will compete in the Independent World Winds classification under the WGI (Winter Guard International) circuit.
Redline was founded in the Fall of 2008 by a small group of musicians and educators living in Michigan. Despite coming from different backgrounds, they created a common goal: to provide new opportunities for exceptionally talented youth so that they may gain personal growth through performance and competition with some of the best musicians in the world. The addition of the Winds Ensemble is a natural fit to continue along the path of providing positive experiences for young musicians.
“As a co-founder of the organization, I am excited to extend the Redline family to Upstate South Carolina and the surrounding areas” says Andrew Ebert, RL Winds Director. “We are putting together a great collection of designers and teachers in order to make a splash in 2018!”
This ensemble will include a variety of wind instruments including both brass and woodwinds, as well as a potential percussion section. More detail regarding times, location and materials will be available on their website as they become available www.redlineperc.org/winds. If you are interested in becoming a member of this ensemble, fill out this form online and you will receive updates as they are released.
