Redline Welcomes Katie Hanka as Program Coordinator for 2020 Season

Redline Percussion is pleased to welcome Katie Hanka into the role of Program Coordinator for the 2020 season. In this role, she will work in tandem with the music/visual design team and instructional staff to organize an innovative program that represents the vision and mission of the Redline organization.

As a co-founder of Redline and one of the organizations biggest fans, I can’t explain how excited I am for the promotion of Katie Hanka to the role of Program Coordinator. She possesses a unique skill set that I think can make her a leader in the next generation of our activity. Her vision, combined with the design team we will be announcing, is a perfect next step for Redline as we move forward and upward.

Katie has been involved in the marching arts for fifteen years as a performer, instructor, writer and designer. Throughout that time, she has had the opportunity to perform with groups including South Lyon Percussion, earning PSA Silver in her final year - Redline Percussion, since it’s inception in 2008 through 2011, serving as the section leader of the bassline - touring with the Santa Clara Vanguard, in the summer of 2010 - and had the exciting opportunity to perform as a Drumbot at Electric Forest Music Festival in 2017. Katie continues to perform as part of the NFL Detroit Lions Entertainment Team on the drumline. As an instructor, Katie has served numerous groups, including South Lyon, Novi, Walled Lake Central, Plymouth-Canton, Eastside Fury and Redline Percussion for the last five years.

Katie holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Eastern Michigan University, where she was also a member of the drumline. During her time in the collegiate world, Katie began to develop a freelance media and film production company in southeast Michigan, which she continues to grow under the name Kadence Films.

Being a part of Redline since it’s inception, seeing the growth of the group over a very short period of time, and witnessing it’s departure then rebirth has ignited a very unique passion in the staff who works tirelessly every weekend to push the group forward. As a part of this incredibly talented team, Katie is exceptionally excited about the opportunity to play an even larger role in ensuring Redline’s success within the constantly-evolving competitive landscape of WGI.
