Redline Welcomes Andy Wade as Battery Manager for 2019 Season

Redline Percussion is excited to welcome Andy Wade into the role of Battery Manager for the 2019 season. You can read more about Andy's extensive performance and teaching experience in his bio below. 

Andy Wade received a Bachelor of Music degree in music education from Central Michigan University where he studied percussion under Dr. Andrew Spencer. During his time at Central, Andy received various awards including the Robert Hayes Award for excellence in jazz performance as well as the Grant G. Skomski and Mary Jane Flanagan Award for excellence in percussion. Andy has also been featured in many honors convocational recitals at Central Michigan’s school of music.

He has performed in many music festivals including the Elmhurst Jazz Festival and Detroit Jazz Festival. He has played and recorded with many solo musicians and large groups such as FrankTiberi, Wayne Bergeron, Robbie Smith, Hush, Central Michigan’s Jazz Lab One, and theMoving Mind Jazz Orchestra. Andy also recently finished recording an album with the progressive soul/pop group “Paddlebots” and is currently touring in promotion of it.

Andy is also experienced in music arranging/design for clients including Concord High School from Jackson, Michigan, James Pace High School from Brownsville, Texas, and Norwell High School from Norwell, Indiana. Furthermore, he is the percussion arranger and drill designer for Huron Valley Percussion and percussion arranger for Lakeland High School.

Andy has acted as percussion director for a number of schools throughout Michigan including Walled Lake Northern and Mount Pleasant High School. He is very active as a percussion educator in the Plymouth-Canton Community school district including percussion specialist for grades 6-12, co-director of the PCEP Middle School percussion ensemble and J.V drum line and serves as battery tech for the PCEP marching band and PCEP winter percussion ensemble.

His WGI marching experience includes NorthCoast Academy (2010-13), where he was the battery section leader and center snare in 2013. His DCI experience includes The Crossmen Drum and Bugle corps (2011) and The Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps (2012). Andy served as snare technician at NorthCoast Academy Percussion Ensemble (2014-15), visual technician at Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps (2013-14) and is currently in his fourth season on percussion staff at Legends Drum and Bugle Corps. Andy has been on staff at Redline Percussion since 2016 and is looking forward to his new role as battery manager for the 2019 season.
