Mackenzie has been teaching snare drums at Redline since 2023, and is also the battery caption head at Lake Effect Percussion. Mackenzie was a member of Redline percussion in 2021 and 2022. He marched several other places throughout Michigan including Lake Effect Percussion, Motor City Percussion, as well as the Eastern Michigan University Marching Band. Mackenzie also marched a summer with The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps.

Mackenzie graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 2022 with a bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, and now works as an engineer at IMEG corp. in Saline, Michigan.
