Ernie Balcueva II
Front Ensemble

Hailing from Troy, Michigan Ernie began his time in the marching arts as a member of the Troy Athens High School marching band front ensemble from 2012-2015. Following his time there Ernie spent 6 seasons with various ensembles Ferndale Independent Percussion, Eclipse Percussion, Divergent Performing Arts, the River City Rhythm Drum & Bugle Corps, and Matrix World where he spent his age out season in 2022. Since then Ernie has continued on to become a Vic Firth Educational Artist and front ensemble educator in the state of Michigan working with multiple high school and indoor percussion programs. When he isn’t teaching percussion, Ernie spends his time enjoying his work in the film industry where he works as a cinematographer, rooting for his favorite Detroit sports teams, and traveling to explore his beloved home state of Michigan.
