Blake Koschmider
Basses

As a performer, Blake spent two years with The Cavaliers Drum Corps, as a bass drummer, as well as four years with the Michigan State Drumline, serving his final year as a section leader. He spent six years in the Michigan State Percussion Studio where he received his bachelor's degree in Music Education.

Blake spent three years as a Battery Coordinator and Bass Tech with Farmington United Percussion Ensemble. He also spent three years as a Battery Coordinator and Bass Tech at River City Rhythm Drum and Bugle Corps. He has spent the past five years as an assistant instructor of the Michigan State Drumline and most recently spent the 2025 fall as an instructor for the Western Michigan University Drumline.

Blake spends his summers on percussion staff at the Yamaha Band of America Camp in Muncie IN as well as the Michigan State Performing Arts Camp. Currently, Blake is a percussion Director at Zeeland Public Schools, and West Ottawa Middle Schools. He is also a percussion instructor at Rockford High School, and Byron Center High School. Blake is excited for his second year as a bass tech with Redline.

On a regular day you will find Blake teaching percussion class, running drumline rehearsal, writing percussion ensemble music, teaching private lessons, working on his golf game and eating good food with good people.
