Akash Watsa
Visual Caption Head & Choreographer

Akash Watsa is a Michigan based music educator who specializes in visual movement with a diverse background teaching K-12 music. He currently teaches band, choir, and orchestra at Holmes Middle School.

He holds a Bachelor’s in Music Education and Mathematics from Central Michigan University and recently earned his Master’s in Educational Leadership and Policy from the University of Michigan.

Akash currently serves as the Visual Caption Head for Walled Lake Marching Band and Walled Lake Performance Ensemble. Both programs continue to grow and have found recent competitive success as MCBA Flight I State Champions (2024) and WGI Scholastic World Class Finalists (2024, 2025). He also remains active in Drum Corps International, having taught on the Troopers Visual Team (2022–2024) and, more recently, Pacific Crest (2025).

With each program, Akash strives to foster a culture of lifelong learning, dedication, and teamwork. He consistently prioritizes student-centered learning while creating an environment where students, staff, and the community are valued. Akash is excited to be returning to Redline for his second season as Visual Caption Head and can’t wait to see what the future holds for the organization!
